Have you met the Sam's Cottage B&B hostess and family?

Sam’s Cottage is our newly opened bed and breakfast in the Hudson Valley situated on Apple Greens Golf Course and apple orchard.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my family to you.  My name is Alyssa; I am the hostess and the cook.  I am a former nurse and I have chosen to become the hostess of our B&B while staying at home with my son.  I am a lover of herb and flower gardening and nearly all breakfast foods.  The sheer variety of baked goods, fruits, sauces and delicious aromas will send my heart afire in the morning.  My dear two year old son, Sam, is at my side as our priority is to provide a warm and inviting place for our guests to put their feet up while on vacation.  He is usually flashing his enchanting smile with a twinkle in his eye.  Although, I am biased. My beloved husband, Pete, is an avid bicyclist, golfer and a sushi chef enthusiast.  He was born and raised here in the New Paltz area and is always ready to offer suggestions on the best hidden spots to explore or tune up your bikes as needed.

I grew up in Montana and moved here about 7 years ago.  I fell in love with my husband and the Hudson Valley.  The New Paltz area alone has endless options for fun and inspiring  activities around nearly every corner.  The beauty of Minnewaska, the winding tree line up the Hudson River and our very own Apple Greens Golf Course are just a few spots that have enchanted me for the past 7 years.

In my future posts,  I will be reviewing the best restaurants, hiking spots, fun activities, and wineries in both the New Paltz area and the whole Hudson Valley area.  I will even add in some delicious breakfast recipes and some of my husbands excellent sushi recipes.

It is my sincere pleasure to be getting to know each and every guest we have.  The guests we have had in just the past two months each have had their own stories, personalities and unique outlooks. What a fun journey in life this is going to be.

Tune in for a review of our local authentic German eatery, The Gunk Haus.
